Derrick has nearly twenty years of professional experience creating landscapes in Washington State.

As owner and principal-in-charge at Baumwelt, Derrick is well-versed in the myriad facets of landscape architecture. With nearly twenty years experience designing and protecting public landscapes and open spaces in Washington State, he has become a well-known figure in the Puget Sound AEC industry. His many connections with allied professionals and contractors helps streamline the design and construction process.

Derrick is regarded for his expertise in sports field design, touting over 50 high-performance synthetic turf fields in his resume of experience, including NCAA facilities. His specialized experience has resulted in many innovative design strategies which improve player safety and reduce installation costs. He is also renowned for wetland habitat restoration and has become a primary source of knowledge for other professionals across the world.

Derrick is a staunch advocate for the client and will work tirelessly to deliver an efficient and effective project. His leadership ensures that clients receive comprehensive, detail-oriented service tailored to their goals, budgets, and timelines.
